   Cadet Rocket Program

C/SrA Chris Andrews launching his rocket, "Star Gate", with the assistance of Rene Simon.  Cadets of the Civil Air Patrol Marco Island Composite Squadron completed a course on rocket science by building their own rockets and launching them on July 26, 2008 at the Florida Sports Park in Naples.  The rockets fired reached altitudes of up to over 3,000 feet.  Rocket experts, Rene and Tim Eisner, graciously donated their time and energy in assisting the Cadets build 12 rockets for their 3-stage Model Rocketry Program.  The course is part of the CAP Aerospace Education program.  The video was taken by 2Lt Angelica Andrews.

The CAP Cadets of the Marco Island Squadron have been building model rockets for the past month as part of the CAP Aerospace Education program. They have been building them under the guidance of Tim Eiszner, a nationally known rocket hobbyist, with the assistance of Rene Simon. After learning how rockets function and the many safety precautions that must be taken, they completed the construction of a number of model rockets...

Civil Air Patrol Cadets Celebrate a Milestone
At the May 8th Civil Air Patrol Meeting, the Marco Island Composite Squadron celebrated a significant milestone. At that meeting, Cadet Deryck Kuper was presented the Billy Mitchell Award by Squadron Commander LtCol Lee Henderson.
